Friction tester, also known as wear-resistant friction tester, is an instrument used to test the surface resistance to wear of materials. It is mainly used to evaluate the wear resistance of materials (such as paper, plastic films, metal sheets, etc.) under specific conditions. By simulating the friction conditions in actual usage environments, the wear resistance and scratch resistance of materials during use can be evaluated.

A friction tester typically includes a fixed testing platform and a friction head that can move up and down. During testing, fix the material to be tested on the testing platform, then load the friction head to an appropriate pressure and slide the friction head back and forth on the surface of the material. After a certain number of friction cycles, observe the surface changes of the material, such as the degree of wear, color changes, etc., to evaluate the wear resistance of the material.
